The thesis is devoted to the study of a trait bond strength of corn grains with corncob core (suitability for mechanized threshing) in self-pollinated lines and hybrids of corn developed on their basis.
The estimation of 68 corn self-pollinated lines of different ecological and geographic origin and 108 single-cross corn hybrids is given in the work.
The estimation of an initial and hybrid material for the trait bond strength of corn grains with corncob core.
Series of self-pollinated lines with various bond strength of corn grains with corncob core and economic characters are selected. The hybrids were developed on their basis for different types of threshing.
The traits which characterize the parameters of suitability for mechanized threshing are investigated. The analysis of combining ability of the trait under study is conducted.
On the basis of research result generalization, the basic principles of paternal paiz selection for hybridization with the purpose of obtaining of hybrids suitable for mechanized thrashing are formulated.
